Spain’s economy crept out of recession in the first quarter of 2010 after nearly two years of decline, according to a preliminary estimate released on Friday by the Bank of Spain.
The bank’s estimate of a 0.1 per cent quarter-on-quarter rise in gross domestic product cheered financial markets, reducing Friday morning’s initial decline in the Ibex-35 stock index.
